BAKU/18.02.14/TURAN : By January 1, 2014 , LLC Azerpoct ( national postal operator ) issued 14.4 thousand cards. For all of last year the capital structure and regional offices set up 53 POS terminals and 2 ATM. Now in possession of the society there are 109 terminals and 15 ATMs - the press -service of the Ministry of Communications and ICT stated.
Overall last year the volume of investments in the ICT sector , communications and mail in Azerbaijan amounted to 202.2 million manat (1.1 % of all financial investments ) . Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
