In Joint Project PASHA Bank and British Council Start New Training Course for Development of Business Journalism
PASHA Bank and British Council announce a special educational program for journalists, which will be implemented with the support of Thomson Foundation.
The purpose of the project is through a specially designed training program to support the capacity building of knowledge and skills development of the national media (television, print and electronic media).
To participate in the training programs, which will begin in November 2013, 10-15 participants will be selected.
The activity is manifested in the course of learning and results of the final interviews, two participants will take part in the summer training program which will be organized by Thomson Foundation. As part of the project, along with trainings on business journalism, for the participants will be trained in English.
In the project, along with journalists from Baku, staff from the regional media organizations can participate.
Note: Participants, who had previously taken part in projects of business journalism, can not re-apply.
The program basically provides for increasing the knowledge and skills of journalists in the following areas:
* Style of writing articles
* Writing essays
* Preparation of reports
* Preparation of information materials
* Methods and practical skills of getting an interview
Training will cover the following topics:
* Journalism in the economy
* Business Journalism and Online Media
* Ethical standards, balanced and accurate disclosure
Requirements for participants:
1. Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of journalism
2. Work on radi* and television, in print, on-line media in the country
3. The opportunity t* participate in all the training courses:
* 3 training sessions will be held in Baku (each of the trainings will last 5 working days in November 2013, January and April 2014)
* Summer program of practice in the UK
Note: All participants must attend all training courses!
The selection process will consist of the following stages:
* The application form and essay
* Conducting preliminary interviews for inclusion in the number of participants in local training and English language courses
* Conduct interviews t* participate in a summer training program, which will be held in the UK (after the local rates)

According to official statistics from Azerbaijan, bilateral trade in 2023 reached 3.1 billion US dollars.
