In what areas are cases of corruption most identified?
Baku/03.01.13/Turan : During the first 9 months of 2013 the Anti -Corruption Department under Prosecutor General's Office sent to the courts 138 criminal cases, the head of this department Kamran Aliyev said at a briefing.
According to him, the revealed facts of corruption cover all areas, mainly taxes , health care , law enforcement , transportation , municipalities, the State Committee on Property , JSC Azerenergy, Azerigaz, etc.
In the period under review on the basis of 232 appeals 132 criminal cases were launched, of which 47 are highlighted in a separate proceeding.
Completed was a preliminary investigation against 251 persons and they were sent to the courts.
Yet no one case faced an acquittal. At the conclusion of criminal proceedings, the investigation provided the seizure of property worth $ 3 million 358 thousand manats.
The compensation provided to individuals and legal entities for damages was 14 million 422 thousand manats, said Kamran Aliyev .
However, he did not say anything about the investigation of the scandal Gulargate - the sale of MP seats by high-ranking officials and deputies themselves . -16D-
