Internet for the New Year

On the eve of the New Year Azerbaijan took off again in terms of the optimum speed of traffic in the world "league table" (118 instead of 126). This is not the best result, although the rate has increased from 3.37 Mbit / s up to 3.60 Mbit / s.

Nearest neighbors in the table are Cambodia (line above) and South Africa (line below). Ghana, Barbados and Uganda are also higher in rank.

As the official portal of the company Ookla (http://www.netindex.com/download/2,110/Azerbaijan) said, this is due to the fact that the speed of the Internet in the neighboring territories "went to White Castle" by the mass introduction of modern technology. Azerbaijan, however, with the exception of mobile operator Azercell Telecom, cannot report achievements. For comparison, in Russia (24th position) the average is 18.02, in Georgia - 13.52 (39th position), Armenia (40th position) - 13.23 Mb / s with a than two-fold quality improvement.

Local Internet quality index is far from the 58 products that describe the site (it was 54).

Indicator center of the capital on incoming traffic is 3.76 Mbit / s. On the periphery of Baku speed is 2.89 Mb / s, in Masazir - 3.48 in Sumgayit - 2.61 Mb / s.

Earlier on the service map were data from Jalilabad, Sheki, and Goychay, but now these points on the map of virtual services do not exist.

Chosen for the experiment were 312,888 of 2.47 million active unique IP-addresses. The study is based on the statistics of 20 local Internet service providers and telecom operators, mainly in Baku. Among the providers of the capital specified in such monitoring, there is a new player with unique capabilities - CityNet with 21.16 Mbit / s.

For three weeks in the first place among the national providers is AzerTelecom - 16.67 Mb / s. with a significant increase in velocity. On the following "bonus" of places marked are Eurosel LLC and Az.StarNet LLC, which, respectively, showed 5.05 and 4.97 Mbit / s. TransEuroCom LLC with 1.90 Mbit / s closed the top twenty.

The mobile operator Azercell Telecom LLC has long led in the list, and now it is the sixth one with the index 4.55 Mbit / s. Azerfon LLC has 3,43 Mbit / s, Baksell Ltd LLC has 1,70 Mbit / s.

Note that almost as many providers were not included in the rankings because they have lower rates.

The rating for the outgoing traffic (the best - 1.37 Mb / s and 118 in the world) also presents statistics of 20 local Internet service providers and telecom operators.
