Salaries of employees of MCIT in January - 330 manat
Today a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) was held.
According to the minister, Ali Abbasov, for the entire 2012 through internal resources 101 jobs were opened. Since the beginning of this year, the average salary of employees in the ministry amounted to 330 manat, which is 9.9% higher than last year. In general, under ICT the average salary was AZN 620.7, and at the post offices - 211.5 manat.
In 2012, the structural units of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan invested in the communications sector 110.5 million manat, reported the meeting of the Board. Total, including private entrepreneurs (mainly mobile operators), last year in the communications sector and ICT there was invested 325.3 million manat - 2% of the total investment in the economy.
Through investments the total capacity of the telephone network in the country increased by about 28 400 numbers, exceeding 1.75 million units.
The number of computers, accounting for every 100 people in the last year, was 20 units, and Internet users - 70 people, 50 of them - users of broadband Internet.
At the end of 2012, mobile telecom penetration in Azerbaijan remained at 110 percent. - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
