The talks between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin, began at about 16:00 in the country residence, "Zagulba".
After a one-to-one meeting, the negotiations will continue in an expanded format.
Putin is accompanied by a large delegation of government officials, including the Foreign Ministers, the Ministers of Defense, and others.
The meeting will result in the signing of bilateral agreements and a press conference with the presidents.
This evening Putin will leave Baku. Some of people accompanying him will remain and go to Gabala, where the talks will continue on August 14.—06D-

On Monday, the Baku Serious Crimes Court sentenced Hasan Abbaszade, a member of the "Muslim Unity" Movement, to three years in prison. Initially, Abbaszade faced charges under Article 234.4.3 (large quantities of illegal drug trafficking) of the Criminal Code. However, following the judicial investigation, the charges were reclassified to a lesser offense under Article 234.1.1 (storage of drugs in large quantities not for sale).
