Alliance of political prisoners expressed solidarity with the political prisoner
The Alliance "Azerbaijan without political prisoners", organized by former political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, congratulated a human rights activist Taleh Hasmammedov on his birthday, who is serving a prison sentence in the prison N17.
A letter sent to Hasmammedov expressed solidarity with him, and a willingness to continue the fight for his release.
Hasmammedov was arrested in November 2011, and was sentenced April 20, 2012. The human rights activist said that the accusation against him was fabricated by the leadership of Ujar police. The reason for this has been the protection of journalist Fuad Huseynov who was also convicted on trumped-up charges of publishing material on the links of the local police with the criminal groups involved in drug trafficking and human trafficking.
The Goychay district court imprisoned him for four years under Articles 221.3 (hooliganism) and 315.1 (providing resistance to the police.) In October this year, Shirvan Court of Appeal chaired by Ismail Akhmedov upheld the verdict of the first instance.-0-
