Chingiz Ganizade loses mandate
Baku / 13.02.20 / Turan: On February 13, the CEC at its meeting invalidated the results of the vote in the 80th Imishli-Beylagan district for the election of a deputy in the Milli Majlis.
This decision was made after considering the complaints of two other candidates - Hikmet Shirov and Razim Amiraslanov.
Amiraslanov is the Deputy Chair of the Musavat party, and Shirinov is the son of the former Prosecutor General Ikhtiyar Shirinov and a relative of a senior official in the presidential administration.
Earlier, the deputy of the previous convocation Chingiz Ganizadeh, who allegedly gained 45% of the vote, was recognized as the winner in this round.
According to the CEC Secretary Arif Mukhtarov, the audit revealed violations by members of the Electoral Commission.
“There were attempts to interfere with the observers, influence voters, steps were taken in favor of individual candidates,” she said. -03B
