Democracy Network to be created in Baku Settlements
European Movement Azerbaijan will conduct trainings in Baku Settlements Mardakhan, Nardaran, Bulbula, Amirjan, Ramana and Qaraçuxur.
European Movement Azerbaijan launched its new project titled as “Young Leaders Network in Baku Settlements” to be implemented with the financial assistance of the The United States Department of State.
In the preparation phase of project implementation negotiations with the governmental bodies with respect to organizing considered trainings will be held and relevant measures will be carried out to involve project target groups in these sessions.
Aftermath, young people residing in Baku Settlements Mardakhan, Nardaran, Bulbula, Amirjan, Ramana and Qaraçukhur will be involved in training sessions having a focus on increasing importance of education, rural youth participation in community related issues.
In the frame of the project implementation surveys will be conducted among the locals of above mentioned settlements and based on the survey results reports will be prepared.
Beyond this a movie will be shoot featuring success stories of the people who lived in these settlements.
The overall objective of the project is to organize series of training sessions about increasing youth role in tackling challenges faced by locals, to bring project target groups attention necessity of education and other appropriate issues.
EM Azerbaijan kindly appeals to interested stakeholders, mainly youth and asks their collaboration in the framework of this project that started on December 1, 2013. –04D06--

On November 26, the Baku Court of Appeals reviewed the appeal of human rights defender Anar Mammadli, who contested the extension of his detention. Mammadli's lawyer, Javad Javadov, stated that Mammadli argued the extension of his pre-trial detention was unfounded and linked the criminal prosecution to his human rights activities, Turan reported.

On November 26, a group of reserve officers from the Nakhchivan special forces held a protest near the Azerbaijani presidential administration. The protesters participated in the 44-day war and were discharged after sustaining injuries. They claim that the payments they are entitled to have not been provided.

On November 26, the Baku Court of Appeals heard a complaint regarding the extension of the detention of former diplomat Emin Ibrahimov. During the hearing, the investigator requested that the complaint be rejected, while Ibrahimov's lawyer, Aghil Laidj, pointed out the lack of grounds for keeping Ibrahimov in custody.
