Issues on transit of goods to Afghanistan are discussed in Brussels
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Araz Azimov, and Deputy Transport Minister, Musa Panahov, visited NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The purpose of the mission is providing information on opportunities of transit through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, the personnel, weapons and equipment of international forces (İSAF), to be transported from Afghanistan in 2014.
The discussions were attended by representatives of Georgia and Turkey, and information about the current infrastructure and land, air, and sea routes of the three countries, including projects of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and Novobakinsky international trading port in Alyat, was given. The three countries are willing to commit to the safe transit of the economic transit. Asimov also had a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of NATO, according to the Mission of Azerbaijan under the Alliance.—06D--

According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.
