Azerbaijani Parliament is preparing a statement in response to a bill the US Helsinki Commission, providing sanctions against senior government officials of Azerbaijan for human rights violations. According to sources in the Parliament, on Thursday the head of the parliamentary committees and some of the MPs held a special meeting with the Speaker, where they discussed the issue on taking additional measures.
According to unconfirmed information, the Parliament proposed to retaliate against the Americans, when Congress passed the "Act of Democracy in Azerbaijan" proposed on the eve of the head of the Helsinki Commission Christopher Smith. -02В-
