Morningstar: USA Does Not Plan a Military Presence in Azerbaijan
U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Morningstar denied reports that part of the American troops withdrawn from Afghanistan will be deployed to Azerbaijan.
" Such reports that military forces withdrawn from Afghanistan will remain in Azerbaijan do not correspond to reality. There will not be U.S. military presence in Azerbaijan. We do not have such plan," said the ambassador in an interview with "Voice of America ".
However, the ambassador highly appreciated Azerbaijan's contribution to the operation in Afghanistan, expressed hope that Azerbaijan will play an important role in the export of goods from Afghanistan after completion of operation in 2014. –06D--
