Quarantined People Demand Freedom
Baku / 07.04.20 / Turan: On the evening before, dozens of people held in quarantine in the so-called “Athletes Town” (Olympic Village) on the outskirts of Baku staged a protest rally.
After spending two weeks in quarantine, these people were not allowed to go home, although no one had the Corona Virus infection. No one explained to them the reason for their quarantine.
Going out onto the balconies of the building, they chanted “Freedom”, shouting and knocking on various objects.
Police squads arrived, but people did not want to calm down. One woman with a child tried to leave the building without permission, but was detained. This caused protests from other people who began to throw chairs and other objects from the balconies into the street.
After the arrival of a representative of the Operational Headquarters, about 20 people who spent two weeks in quarantine were released home. The rest were asked to wait for the deadline and promised not to be delayed longer than expected. -02B-

On December 23, a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Serbia took place in Belgrade. During the final press conference, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric reported that the discussions focused on the development of tourism. "We are strengthening efforts to open direct air routes, as well as economic development and energy," said Djuric. The minister expressed confidence that cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan would become even closer and more intensive in the near future.
