"REAL" does not agree with the rejection of Ilgar Mamedov from participation in the elections to the Milli Mejlis
The leader of the "Republican Alternative" (REAL) Movement, Ilgar Mamedov, will not be able to participate in the repeated elections to the Milli Majlis on the 90th Agdash constituency, said the head of public relations department of the CEC Shahin Asadli. According to him, this is due to the decision of Sheki Court of Appeal in the case of Mammadov on 29 April. According to the judgment, the conviction against Mammadov entered into force and in accordance with Article 13.3.1 of the Electoral Code, Mammadov has lost the right to vote, and cannot participate in the elections as a candidate.
When asked why the district election commission issued petitions to representatives Mammadov, Asadli replied: "Appeal of Ilgar Mammadov came to the OIC on April 25, his candidacy was approved on 28 April, and an enforceable judgment in relation to him was not in force." Executive Secretary Natig Jafarli commenting on the statement by the representative of the Central Election Commission said that it could be correct only formally.

According to him, the campaign to collect signatures in favor of Mammadov will be suspended when a formal decision will be presented to the Central Election Commission of not admitting the leader of "REAL" to participate in the elections.
