Takhmasib Novruzov Accused Rahim Gaziyev of Beating
Ex-Defense Minister, Rahim Gaziyev, has been summoned by the Sabail district police, on the orders of investigator Ziya Aliyev. The occasion was an incident which happened a year ago with the head of the pro-government NGO Tahmasib Novruzov, who complained he was insulted by Gaziyev.
"Supposedly I offended Novruzov on the air and even cursed the editorial staff, and then struck him in the hallway. Nothing of the sort happened," Gaziyev told Turan on the phone.
After the interrogation, the investigator arranged a confrontation between Gaziyev and Novruzov.
According to Gaziyev, Novruzov alleged that the former minister gave him a slap in the face and slapped his hand on his head. After that Gazieva was again summoned to the police at 16.00.
Gaziyev links all of this with his open letter to the President, written a month ago, where he sharply criticized the shortcomings in the army.
Gaziyev was previously arrested On March 19 and was kept for 6 hours in the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, where he was asked to stop his critisims. -16B03/06-
