The meeting of Aliyev and Pashinyan is possible in June – Catherine Colonna
Baku/28.04.23/Turan: France hopes that Armenia and Azerbaijan will hold a high-level dialogue in Chisinau, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said at a joint press conference with her Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan on Friday. A meeting of the European Political Community is scheduled in the capital of Moldova on June 1, 2023, which will be attended by the leaders of 47 countries, as well as the EU leadership.
According to the Colonna, it is necessary to expand the negotiation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, fuel it and find common ground for future meetings. "We hope that it will be possible to hold a high-level dialogue in Chisinau, similar to the one that took place in Prague (last October)," Sputnik Armenia quotes the French minister.
It should be recalled that at the meeting in Prague, the statement of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan was adopted through the mediation of the President of France and the head of the European Council. In particular, it refers to the mutual recognition of the territorial integrity of the two countries.
In December of the same year, a framework peace agreement was to be signed in Brussels, but Baku refused the meeting due to Yerevan's demands to include a clause on the status of Karabakh in the agreement. ---02D---
