The problem of South Azerbaijanis must update
Roundtable: "The issue of South Azerbaijan in the international arena" was held on Monday in the Media Center. The event was attended by representatives of a number of political and social structures.
The reason for the event became a campaign in the USA to collect signatures for the issue of South Azerbaijan on the site of the White House. Representative of the "Umid" party, Rufat Muradly, noted that residents of South Azerbaijan fight alone for the national liberation, and to finish it successfully , it is necessary to unite forces. In this case the support of international community is necessary.
Representative of the movement "REAL" Azer Gasimov noted the presence of regional forces who do not want the success of the liberation movement of
Azerbaijanis in Iran. Natural ally in this matter is the USA, because they are interested in the changes in Iran.
The participants made proposals to the Azerbaijani authorities to take steps to win the liberation struggle in South Azerbaijan. It was proposed to create in Baku the Institute of Research for the Southern Azerbaijan, as well as to raise the issue of South Azerbaijan to the UN.
Political analyst Elkhan Shainoglu reminded that the national liberation movement of South Azerbaijan has been lasting for more than 20 years. However, so far, there is no international reaction to this process. The fact that the political term South Azerbaijan is used in USA as a political term South Azerbaijan, in itself is a success. Strengthening of the world interest in this problem requires the work with the European institutions, he said.
Participants in the event have decided to hold a series of important events dedicated to this issue. -05C04-
