Akram Aylisli: MPs violate the Constitution
"Appeals to deprive me of citizenship are contrary to constitution. MPs violate the Constitution and the laws that they themselves make, this is how Akram Aylisli, the author of the novel "Stone Dreams" commented on an interview with "Objective TV". He said that no one can deprive a person of Azerbaijani citizenship.
Moreover, the Constitution and laws provide for freedom of speech, expression and creativity.
As for the accusations of causing damage by a writer to the policies of the Azerbaijani government, he said: “What a policy is if it is possible to question the artistic work of one writer?”
Aylisli called "a racism" the attitude of parliament towards him.
"On the one hand, the authorities say the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh are our citizens, on the other hand - MPs accuse that I am Armenian. This is – racism," said Aylisli.
Speaking about the essence of the novel, he noted that all the facts in his work have been taken from real life.
"I now call on the Armenian writers to tell the truth about the Khojaly genocide and other mass murders. Poeple are not to be blamed for wars. Those are guilty who use politics for personal gain, and earn on wars," said Aylisli.—03C06-
