A group of NDA activists detained
Baku / 07.15.19 / Turan: Police stopped the meeting of the Popular Movement of Azerbaijan (PMA).
According to the PMA board member Agasif Shakiroglu, on July 15, approximately 30 police officers came to the organization"s office in the Yasamal district of Baku and demanded to leave the premises.
Ten activists of the PMA were taken away in an unknown direction.
The Yasamal district police department told Turan that they did not have information on this issue.
* The PMA was established on January 26, 2019 on the initiative of the ex-head of the IDB, chairman of Iskender Hamidov, and included: the Classic Popular Front party, the National Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (leader Mirmahmud Miralioglu), the Umid party Igbal Agazade), the Democratic Party (Sardar Jalaloglu), the Citizens and Development Party (Ali Aliyev), the White Party (Tural Abbasly), the Great Azerbaijan Party (leader Elshad Musayev), a number of other small parties, and also public activists and intellectuals .-- 21B06-

Military expert and regular on state television channels, Adalat Verdiyev, has been accused of a serious crime—disclosure of military secrets. According to the charge (Article 308 of the Criminal Code), if the accused can prove the disclosure was unintentional, they may face 3 to 7 years in prison.
