Activists in Prisons on Hunger Strike for Nine Days
Baku / 10.21.19 / Turan: Political prisoners Ilkin Rustamzadeh and Bayram Mammadov continue their hunger strike in Prison No. 13 for the ninth day.
The fathers of the youth activists visited them in the prison on Monday. They asked the young people to stop the hunger strike, but they were adamant.
"Ilkin and Bayram looked lethargic. Nevertheless, they retain the courage of the spirit," the relatives of the activists said.
According to the same sources, the religious activist Ahsan Nuruzadeh, and the journalist Elchin Ismayilli, who also started a hunger strike, were transferred, respectively, to Prisons NN 6 and 17 three days ago. Nuruzadeh continues his hunger strike, while there is no information about Elchin Ismayilli yet.
The young activists Giyas Ibrahimov and Orkhan Bakhyshly are also on a hunger strike in prison.
The mass hunger strike of the prisoners began in solidarity with the blogger Mehman Huseynov. They are also demanding the release of all political prisoners. -06D--
