Azerbaijani is accused of stealing diamonds in Israel
Baku / 10.05.18 / Turan: A 23-year-old tourist from Azerbaijan was detained on May 9 in Bat Yam (Israel) on suspicion of stealing diamonds for 900 thousand shekels (252 thousand dollars). According to the local police, he stole them from a currency exchange office in Tel Aviv, Israeli media reported.
A day earlier, on May 8, an employee of the exchange office turned to the police in connection with the loss of a bag of diamonds from the rack. During the investigation, video from the surveillance camera helped to fix the moment of theft. The police left on the trail of the suspect and detained him in a rented apartment. During the search, a part of the diamonds was found in one of the rooms.
As it turned out, the suspect arrived in Israel with his father, who was being treated at the Ikhilov hospital. The police are going to ask the court to extend the term of his detention. The name of the detainee is not reported.
On the promulgated video, it is clear that the young man is standing at the counter of the exchange office for a long time, where a bundle of money is lying around, and the employee is gone for a long time. Then the guy takes the bag from the shelf in front of him and leaves. From this video it is not clear how such a quantity of a diamond could freely lie on the counter. -02D-
