Cars up to 5 Years from the Date of Manufacture Exempt from Inspection
Draft amendments to the law "On the rules of the road" that came out of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan's parliament, the Milli Majlis adopted at a meeting last Friday.
Under the changes, new cars (up to 5 years of service) are exempt from compulsory technical inspection. "On the one hand, the simplified procedure for inspection, on the other - the traffic police frees up time for performance of other functions. Most importantly - happy citizens legally cast off the burden of more bureaucratic red tape," said at the presentation of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building Ali Huseynli.
Under the project, the new machines are exempt from inspection for 4 years from the date of issue. From 4 to 10 years inclusive, inspection will be held every 2 years. After 10 years inspection will be carried out annually.
"Today, the production of cars and compliance with technical, environmental performance in line with international standards developed perfectly, because the first years after the production of technical inspection is formal. Reduce the waiting list for an annual pass inspection, will be stimulated by the importation to the country of used and new cars" - commented on the changes in law Ali Guseynli.
According to the Main State Traffic Police of Azerbaijan, the country (as of March 1) registered just over 1.15 million private cars. Two-thirds of them (703,000) registered in Baku.
In 2012, there were imported 101,255 vehicles in the amount of $ 1 119.55 mln.
The main burden fell on passenger cars - 89,652 ($ 760,099,000). Delivered were 9,433 trucks ($ 213.35 million), 1132 Special Purpose Vehicle ($ 96,215,000), 1,038 buses with a capacity of 10 persons or more ($ 49,881,000).
To conduct inspection, 2 receipts are needed - for technical inspection and road tax. The fixed amount of car maintenance is 20 manat, and inspection of motorcycles and trailers is 10 manat.
Example: For a car with an engine 2400 cm3 to do two receipts:
Technical inspection (MOT) of the car - 20 AZN; road tax - for the engine 2.4 - 28 AZN (road tax can be calculated on the website www.AZPDD.info in the "calculator TO");
The bank will calculate the exact cost you, but you need to learn the price range so you are not forced to pay a sum far in excess of that required by law. After the bank you will be at the hands of three checks, one of which will be equal to 0.15% of the tax amount plus fees. You will face corruption in the computer room. They will require extra money for the search for a number of your car in the database, but it is against the law.
