Elchin Hasanzade assures that he is being threatened
Baku / 17.06.19 / Turan: Journalist Elchin Hasanzade claims that he is being threatened by unidentified persons who he believes represent Maarif Mammadov, the head of the Mingechaur water canal.
"The pressure started on me after I wrote the information that Mammadov, previously convicted of fraud was appointed to a high post," Hasanzade said.
However, the pressure and threats began two months after the news was published.
"I received a call on my cell phone on June 15 and was summoned to clarify a number of issues and threatened with punishment," Hasanzade said, noting that his life is in danger.
Maarif Mammadov, in an interview with Turan, said that he had not taken any action to exert pressure on Hasanzade.
"He writes everything he thinks, but this does not reflect reality. That is all I can say," Mammadov noted. -0--
