Four Children Drowned in Nardaran
Baku / 08/12/19 / Turan: The Sabunchu district prosecutor's office opened a criminal case on the death of four children in the uncontrolled (not beach) territory in the Baku village of Nardaran (30 km north of Baku).
The case was brought under article 314.2 (negligence resulting in the death of the victim by negligence) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The appropriate expertise has been assigned, and the necessary investigative measures are ongoing, the prosecutor"s office of the capital reported.
On August 10, four children aged 8-12 years drowned in the sea, in the territory of the village of Nardaran. The bodies of three of them - Mansuma Jafarova (born in 2007), Alirza Jafarov (born in 2008) and Leyla Jafarzadeh (born in 2011) were recovered from the water by the search and rescue group of the State Water Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergencies. The body of the fourth child - Zeynab Jafarzadeh (born in 2009) was discovered on Monday. The drowned were sisters and a brother. -21C-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
