Journalist Claims Unreasonable Taking of His Apartment by Accord
Baku / 27.05.20 / Turan: The editor of the Kanal 13 Internet resource, Aziz Orujov, accused Accord of capturing his family’s apartment in Absheron Youth Camp.
The apartment was purchased on credit in August 2007 in the name of his brother. The journalist made repairs at his own expense and settled in the apartment, the cost of which without repair amounted to 27 thousand manats.
The Orujovs repaid the loan of 21,650 manats, and 5,350 manats remained to pay off the full cost. Aziz Orujov admits that he delayed the repayment of the balance.
“But we agreed on a postponement with Accord. However, in 2017, Accord went to court demanding the cancellation of the contract, and the court ruled in favor of the company. ”
According to Orujov, the court left open the question of the return of 21,650 manats already paid on the loan and the repair costs.
Even after the court decision was made, Orujov was negotiating with Accord about paying off the debt, and with the consent of the company's management, the family continued to live in the apartment. However, a few days ago, representatives of the company, in the absence of the Orujov family, opened the doors and changed the lock. “Our things remained in the apartment and we couldn’t pick them up,” says Orujov. He also claims that Accord refuses to return the money already paid on the loan, not to mention the funds for the repair.
The journalist’s lawyer Bahruz Bayramov pointed out the illegality of the company’s actions, whose employees did not have the right to open the doors, and this is the prerogative of the bailiffs. Moreover, the owners had to inform them and give them the opportunity to pick up their things. There was no inventory of the property.
Accord believes the journalist’s claims are unfounded. Aziz Orujov intends to sue the company. —06D-
