"Independent journalists are always less provided and more often face physical and mental pressure. Therefore, they are the backbone of the best media whom the international community trusts," said the head of ABA CEELI, Robert Stiire.
To achieve a high level of competence, an independent journalist should develop abilities, to attend practical courses. Without appropriate character, there will not be a sequence in overcoming obstacles, the ability to communicate with people, and finding the right sources of information.
The rule of law is impossible without freedom of speech, because in conjunction with the public interests it determines criteria of behavior of all branches of government. That is why, most of the journalists are responsible for the country's future, said American lawyer.
Participants of the conference discussed the level of journalism education in local and Western universities, criteria of quality of journalist education, new methodologies for informing society, as well as current trends in the press, e-media, and Internet publications. --17D—
