Tariffs for the use of toll roads in Azerbaijan are announced
Baku/24.07.18/Turan: Traffic rules on toll roads have been defined in Azerbaijan. The corresponding road signs will be installed at the beginning and end of these tracks, according to the rules approved by the Cabinet on the use of toll motorways in Azerbaijan. It should be noted that while there are no toll roads in Azerbaijan.
One of the toll roads will be the Baku-Alat-Astara-border road with Iran after its commissioning.
Depending on the type of cars (cars, trucks), the tariffs for using roads will be 0.04-0.07 manats per one km. The maximum permissible speed is 110 km/h.
According to Arshad Huseynov, an expert in the field of transport, traffic on roads is regulated by the law "On Highways", which does not provide for toll roads.
The expert also pointed out that the condition for the introduction of toll roads should be the availability of alternative routes. Moreover, the alternative route should be as convenient as paid.
He also stressed that tariffs for the use of transport roads should be accessible. According to the expert, in world practice the cost of toll roads is 0.03-0.05 manats per one kilometer. -0-
