The appeal of journalist Zia Assadli is considered in the city of Shirvan

"The investigation into the Asadli case was closed, he was not allowed to bring a lawyer of his choice. There are many dark moments in the matter. Therefore, the complaint must be considered with a re-trial," Sadigov said. However, the court rejected the motion.
The lawyer further petitioned to change the measure of restraint in the form of arrest and release of the journalist from custody. The court rejected this petition. Only one petition was granted - on extradition to the defense of copies of the materials of the criminal case. The next trial is scheduled for November 7.
Asadli was sentenced on September 5 to 3 years imprisonment. The Bilasuvar District Court found him guilty under Article 221.3 (hooliganism with the use of weapons or an object used as a weapon).
He denied the charges and said that a provocation was committed against him and the real reason for his arrest is the publication of reports about protest actions of the population due to social problems. -05B-
