The crisis in the flea market Lokbatan mature from last year
Saturday's mass protest in Lokbatan flea market by small shopkeepers, including the shopping centers Sadarak, Bina, and Riyad, can not be called a surprise.
Tension was brewing in the shopping centers from the end of last year, when the owners of shops began to demand the installation of cash registers. In January, there were two centers of spontaneous meetings at which this requirement was seen as an attempt to market the owners run deep hands into the pockets of entrepreneurs.
As we know all the traders in the markets, whose trade is mainly consumer goods of poor quality, pay a high rent and various illegal fees.
Recently, the rent increased again by 240 manats, depending on the area, to 800 to 2 thousand manats or more per month.
Total area of the flea market takes a couple of thousand hectares. Its territory is significantly more than the locations of the airport Heydar Aliyev.
Until April 2009 the flea market was located there in the area of 600 ha and was relocated to the area of Lokbatan - away from the presidential run.
The current performance of traders on its mass and emotion was markedly different from previous protests. Some witnesses said that the protests fueled from the orange clothing preserved and not completely destroyed in 2005. In August 2005, on the eve of elections in the second-hand market people in civilian clothes began to raid with a view to removing orange clothes from the sale. They were illegally confiscated and burned in a vacant lot behind the shopping center.
Then in the shopping centers Sadarak and Bina there was not left a single thing in orange - baby clothes, leather or fabric. That is why, according to the corridors of power, the "Orange Revolution" in Azerbaijan then failed. -0 -
