The editor was summoned to GDCOC
Baku / 04.24.19 / Turan: The editor of the site az24saat.org Vugar Alekperov (Gurdganly) has been summoned to the General Directorate on Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
Alekperov told Turan, at about 4:45 pm a man called him, who introduced himself as an employee of GDCOC named Heydar, and invited him to the office. When asked to send a formal agenda, the caller said that it was a telephone message, but then agreed to send a summons to the journalist"s place of residence. The caller did not say about the reasons for calling the police, he only said that there was some kind of complaint.
Alekperov himself suspects that a call to GDCOC may be related to the Usubovs business, which was republished from the website of meydan.tv, entitled "Police bread or Meyveli". "After the publication of this article, I received several messages with threats, but I did not think that this would be the reason for calling the police," Alekperov said.
In August last year, the site az24saat.org was blocked on the territory of Azerbaijan by a decision of the Sabail district court of Baku city on the basis of a claim by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. Earlier, on the territory of Azerbaijan, the websites of meydan.tv, Azadlig radio and Azadlig newspapers were blocked by court decisions. -0--
