The tragic epic of the hero's family continues
Baku/16.01.20/Turan: Turan news agency devoted a series of materials to the tragic epic of the family of a soldier Imamverdi Zabidov, who died heroically in April 1994 in the battles for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The Agency sent information requests to a number of state bodies in order to draw their attention to the problem of the Zabidov family, and also initiated lawsuits in connection with the failure of state bodies to comply with the law on freedom of information.
A brief description of this tragic story is as follows. In 1993, the House-Building Plant allocated Imamverdi Zabidov an apartment. When he left for the participation in the Karabakh war, refugees from the Gubadli region took over the entire 15-apartment building, including the Zabidov’s apartment. The wife of Naila Zabidova with two young children remained on the street. Relatives sheltered her. Appeals to the courts were futile. In April 2019, refugees were relocated to a new building. The residents left an emergency building - unsuitable for housing. “We must pay tribute - Zakir Farajev, the head of the executive branch of Sumgait, accepted me on my own initiative and gave the order to repair the apartment,” says Naila Zabidova, the hero’s wife.
However, she noted that the repair is formal - workers use old floorboards, there are no doors, rotten windows are not replaced, the bathroom was left in unsightly condition.
Together with her, we examined the assignment and the apartment, the appearance of which was confirmed Zabidova’s words. Another citizen who suffered from self-seizure of the apartment reported that some apartment owners are afraid to move to the rear due to the presence of noticeable cracks in the building.
It is clear that the building requires major repairs, and maybe it is already subject to demolition. However, this should be decided by the appropriate city structures in accordance with the law. In the meantime, it can be stated that the tragic epic of the Zabidov family continues. — 0—

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
