Trial Starts on Fire in 16-storey Residential Building
The investigation of the fire in a 16-storey residential building in the Binagadi district of Baku on May 19, 2015 was submitted to the court, the Prosecutor General said in a statement.
The investigation attracted to justice several people, including the director of the enterprise Global Stone producing polyurethane, with which the burned building was faced, Bashirov Ugur, the founder of Global Construction Makhmudov Miryusif, his deputy Asgarov Alakbar, the deputy head of the Executive Power of the Binagadi district Gazanfar Novruzov, the head of the department of the same district’s Executive Power Radjabov Adalat, and Chief of Housing Department №72 Nizami Orujov. They were charged under Article 225.2 (violation of fire safety rules, resulting in death) and 308.2 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code.
In addition, the charges under articles 308.2 and 313 (forgery) were presented to Agajavad Mammadov, the head of the testing laboratory, which carried out the tests of polyurethane and Alibekov Akif, the General Director of the Ministry of Health Epidemiology Center, with which the technical requirements for products made of polyurethane were agreed.
The investigation materials were sent to the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, Prosecutor General's Office said in the statement.

It was the third such incident, but only after the tragedy, the authorities decided to dismantle the polyurethane from hundreds of buildings in Baku. -02D-
