Baku / 16.02.19 / Turan: Yesterday in the Shamakhi region there was the second eruption of a mud volcano in recent days. According to the district executive authority, the eruption was recorded near the village of Kichik Khynysly. Any destruction or other consequences of the eruption have not been reported.
On February 13, in the same area, the Gushchu mud volcano woke up near the village of the same name, which caused some damage.
On February 5, a strong earthquake measuring 5-6 magnitude was recorded in the Shamakhi region, causing damage to residential and commercial buildings.
Seismologists see a direct connection between the aftershocks and the activation of volcanoes. This is due to the fact that during the movement of underground plates, there is a change in the ways of gases coming from the ground to the surface. Therefore, we should expect activation of other volcanoes. -05D-

On Tuesday, the General Prosecutor's Office announced the initiation of new criminal cases against agricultural product exporters who allegedly concealed their earnings abroad. Specifically, the Sumgayit City Prosecutor's Office has opened a criminal case under Articles 208.2.1 and 208.2.2 (failure to return foreign currency to the country in large amounts by prior agreement of a group of individuals) and Article 308.2 (abuse of office causing serious consequences) against officials of the company "SOİL BOONS" LLC – Jahangir Aliyev, Elyar Gadzhiev, Mehman Mirzamedev, Saleh Gabilov, and Aly Aliyev.
