Russia and Ukraine hold talks on Pripyat in the Gomel region
Gomel/28.02.22/BELTA: Russia and Ukraine are holding their first talks on the territory of the Gomel region of Belarus.
The Russian side arrived in Belarus on February 27. The Ukrainian delegation arrived on military helicopters to the place of negotiations a little less than two hours before they began.
The meeting of delegations is taking place near the Ukrainian border on the banks of the Pripyat River. Due to security reasons, the exact meeting point is not known.
The Russian delegation at the talks was headed by Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky. It also includes Deputy Defense Minister, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky and Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov. The Ukrainian side is represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolai Tochitsky, Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak, head of the "Servant of the People" faction David Arahamia, MP Rustem Umerov and the first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral contact group Andrey Kostin.
As reported, Russian-Ukrainian negotiations are taking place in the Gomel region on the banks of the Pripyat River. Due to security reasons, the organizers of the negotiations do not name the exact location.-0-
