JSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (AKMP) sent to withdraw 25 ships, which are subject to removal. Reducing the number of vehicles has reduced freight.
The press service of the shipping company told Turan, that write-offs of obsolete ships agreed with the State Committee on Property. Dismantling of ships carried out in the steel LLC Baku Steel Company. After formation in October 2013 the closed joint stock company, on the basis of two state enterprises has written off 10 tankers, 9 bulk carriers and 6 technical ships.
According to the SSC, the first five months of this year on the water was transported 4,151,800 tons (59% of them - oil), which is 19.1% less than in the comparable period of 2013. In the steamship company they explain this trend as a reduction in the number of vessels and the emergence of merchant ships of other Caspian countries in the Caspian Sea.
Currently, the AKMP transport fleet has 61 ships, including tankers - 33, ferries - 13, passenger ships - 2, and 184 specialized vessels.
This year, AKMP ordered LLC Baki Gemiqayirma Zavodu the construction of 3 passenger ships. - 08B-
