Share of Baku - 85% of Hotel Revenues
In the first half of 2014 the total revenue of 127 hotels and other enterprises of hotel type operating in Baku totaled 67,759,200 manat, which is 85% of the income of all 527 such facilities across the country.
In the control message the statistics of Baku noted that only 10.3% of these revenues accounted for hotels owned by foreign investors. Joint ventures owning hotels helped to 17.6% of revenues on hotel services. Hotels owned by local individuals and legal entities had 72.1% of the revenue.
Hotels in Baku accommodated 214,300 people, of which 75% were foreigners, in H1. Thus over 85% of hotel guests stayed overnight from 1 to 3 days. The average tourist in Baku spent on average 316 manat on hotels services.
During January-June 2014 the number of hotels in Baku increased by 4 units, in which there were 1031 rooms. By the beginning of July 2014 Baku hotels with 7360 rooms could accommodate 11 800 people at a time. This is one third of the total capacity of hotels in Azerbaijan.
Hotel staff in Baku has more than 5200 people at a nominal average monthly wage of 610 manat.--08B--
