Armenia Buys Indian Radars to Detect Enemy Weapons
Baku / 03.03.20 / Turan: Armenia buys four Indian SWATHI radars, representing an electronic intelligence system, for $ 40 million. They allow you to detect and establish the type of enemy weapons in a radius of 50 km.
According to the Indian press, the Armenian side preferred these systems, abandoning Russian and Polish counterparts.
“Under the agreement, India will supply four SWATHI radars for locating weapons that provide fast, automatic and accurate detection of enemy weapons, such as mortars, shells and missiles, at a distance of 50 km. SWATHI can simultaneously process the data of several shells fired from different types of weapons in different places. The system is capable of detecting mortars of caliber 81 mm or more, shells of caliber 105 mm or more, and flying rockets of caliber 120 mm or more,” writes the Indian Times.
