Armenia must recognize new realities in the region - Leyla Abdullayeva
Baku/07.15.21/Turan: The fact that Yerevan connects signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan with unreasonable conditions and without taking into account the new realities in the region, first, is directed against Armenia itself. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Leyla Abdullayeva, commenting on the statement of the acting Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan that, "Without resolving the issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh it is impossible to talk about any peace agreements with Azerbaijan."
“Normalization of relations is the best means of peace, security and progress in the region, the basis for this is respect and observance of the norms of international law. This is the position that Azerbaijan has always demonstrated. By de-occupying our territories, we declared our readiness to normalize relations with neighboring Armenia and supported new cooperation initiatives, because we are supporters of constructivism,” Abdullayeva said.
Abdullayeva stressed that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, speaking about the "status" the day before, said that there is no territorial unit called Nagorno-Karabakh in Azerbaijan, but there is Karabakh, and based on the decree of the head of state dated July 7, 2021, the Karabakh economic region was created. —06D-
