Brief conversation between Aliyev and Pashinyan in Brussels
Baku / 14.05.19 / Turan: The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia participating in the EU Eastern Partnership Conference held a brief conversation on May 13. About this Radio Azatutyun reported, referring to Nikol Pashinyan.
"It is impossible to resolve any conflict, focusing exclusively on the interests of one of the parties involved, because I believe that the most important obstacle to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is Azerbaijan"s position not to talk to Karabakh. The truth is that this conflict has three sides - Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia. We believe that it is very important to have a suitable negotiation framework for resolving this conflict," said Pashinyan.
Answering the question about whether he spoke with the President of Azerbaijan, Pashinyan said: "Yes, it was a short conversation about the current situation."
When asked if there are plans to meet with Aliyev again, Pashinyan replied: "There are no plans yet, but I am sure that the negotiations will continue. It is very important that Nagorno-Karabakh return to the negotiating table, this is very important. Without Nagorno-Karabakh, a real settlement of the problem is impossible. " -02D-
