Eight Armenians arrested for attacks on Azerbaijani restaurants in Moscow
Baku 11.08.20 / Turan: After the recent clashes between Armenians and Azerbaijanis, about 1000 Armenians were detained in Moscow. Most of them were released after the protocol was drawn up, 15 people were subjected to an administrative fine of 1,000-1500 rubles, 8 people were arrested for two months during the investigation. Head of the Moscow office of the Union of Armenians of Russia Shahen Petrosyan told about this to “Haykakan Zhamanak” newspaper.
“Most of the detainees are those who traveled around Moscow with Armenian flags. They drew up protocols for an unauthorized action. Those who attacked Azerbaijani restaurants - “Bakinsky Dvorik” and “One Thousand and One Nights” remain under arrest, Petrosyan said.
Those arrested are charged under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - hooliganism, violation of public order with the use of weapons or other objects.
Azerbaijanis were also detained on the facts of the attack on Armenians, seven of whom are accused of attempted murder, Petrosyan said.
Mutual attacks in the Russian capital took place after the hostilities on July 12-14 on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
For the first time, the Armenians attacked the Azerbaijani consulate in Los Angeles, and then in Brussels, while several representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora were beaten. In response, Azerbaijanis began to beat Armenians in Russia. -02D-
