Ilgar Mammadov makes a statement about a single opposition candidate
The arrested leader of the Real Movemen, Ilgar Mammadov, made a statement regarding the single candidate from the opposition. The text of the statement was published on social networks by supporters of Mamedov in the Real Movement .
It is said that the appointment by the National Council a single candidate does not mean the "failure of attempts to register any other member of the National Council."
If the candidacy of Rustam Ibrahimbayov is not registered, it will mean that Ilham Aliyev has appointed himself a "competitor". At the same time, if Ibrahimbayov’s candidacy is not registered, it will destroy the National Council, and will be a defeat of the next generation of politicians.
"We should all follow Ibrahimbayov, but he should not be aside, or REAL will continue the path to elections with its own candidate," says Mamedov.
From this confused statement it is difficult to understand exactly what Ilgar Mamedov wants to say. However, we can assume that he is ready to support a single candidate, but only if the candidate will behave good. Ilgar Mamedov was also nominated for presidency.
He was arrested in March this year on charges of organizing mass riots on January 13-14 in Ismailly region. However, Amnesty International and other organizations have recognized him as a prisoner of conscience. The European Court of Human Rights considers his application out of turn. -02D-
