Ilham Aliyev does not rule out the state of emergency and the neutralization of the “fifth column”
Baku/19.03.20/Turan: On March 19, the head of state addressed the country's population on the occasion of the Novruz holiday. “This year, mass events are not possible because of the coronavirus. I’m sure that the Azerbaijani people understand this situation well,” the head of state said.
Touching on the situation in the country, Aliyev highlighted ongoing reforms and public dialogue. “The political dialogue has actually begun. I am sure that its results will also be positive for our people and the further development of the country. As for the groups that refused to dialogue, they know better. In any case, I said, I want to say again - we will not be the loser, and in the new political configuration, there will be no place for traitors, representatives of the fifth venal column. ”
He then spoke about the achievements in the economy and the fight against Armenian separatism, which in Munich were dealt a “crushing blow”.
In the coming period, many social projects will be implemented in the direction of supporting low-income families, 7,000 apartments for internally displaced persons were built and commissioned, and another 1,500 apartments for martyrs' families.
Touching upon the crisis in the world caused by the drop in oil prices, Aliyev noted, “Coronavirus, of course, complicates the situation. Despite all this, I believe that Azerbaijan will overcome this test with honor and small losses. ”
Four modern laboratories have been purchased, and currently their number has reached 10. If necessary, additional laboratories will be bought. Ten hospitals operate in a special mode.
“Our main goal is to prevent the spread of this disease in Azerbaijan. To achieve this, measures taken only by the state are not enough. The state does everything that is necessary, allocates funds. In early March, 10 million manat was allocated to combat this disease. Today, an additional 20 million manat will be allocated from the President’s Reserve Fund,” Aliyev said.
He did not rule out the possibility that “a state of emergency might be declared sometime. In this case, isolation of the representatives of this fifth column will become a historical necessity. ” "We cannot allow the anti-Azerbaijani forces, the fifth column, national traitors, taking advantage of this situation, to commit any provocation." -02D-
