Ilham Aliyev on Reforms and Officials
Baku / 24.12.19 / Turan: Personnel changes and structural reforms became a memorable event in 2019. These reforms began after the presidential election in 2018, head of state Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with local television channels.
“New young cadres with a modern worldview are represented in the government, and we are already seeing good results. With regard to structural changes, serious changes occurred in the presidential administration, where new faces appeared. Personnel changes began in the local authorities, and they will continue. It is impossible to achieve progress in the 21st century with old baggage,” Aliyev said.
According to him, the atmosphere in the country should change, thinking should change, and updating should take place.
Touching upon the country's problems, Aliyev complained about his surroundings, which did not report to him about everything and often he received information from the media. Officials are accustomed to reporting only on well-being and lack of problems. They either do not know, or they deliberately hide problems. This makes it necessary to strengthen civilian control, he said.
Touching upon the corruption factor, Aliyev expressed indignation at these facts and promised to strengthen the fight against bribery of government officials. “Such people are a stain on us, on the authorities. Let everyone draw conclusions,” he said.
Speaking about the reason for the extraordinary parliamentary elections, Aliyev said that structural transformations affected all bodies and the parliament could not stay away from this. He expressed hope that the new parliament would be active and attentive to the problems of its constituents. -02D-
