National Council Condemns Torture of Prisoners
The National Council of Democratic Forces issued a statement condemning the tense situation in Prison №14.
The statement focuses on maintaining tension in the prison after the mutiny on December 22 because of the death of the prisoner Elshad Babayev of torture.
The statement also recalled that internal troops were used to suppress the rebellion, and hundreds of prisoners were abused and placed in solitary confinement, and forbidden to meet relatives. "All this is done in order to hide the facts of torture from the public," the statement says.
The murder of the prisoner Elshad Babayev by the penitentiary staff is the index of attitude of the ruling regime to the citizens of the country, as well as the criminalization of the regime as a whole, the statement said.
The National Council condemns the incident and demands to allow the relatives communication with the inmates of the jail. -04D-
