National Council discussed threats and challenges to the Internet and Ukraine
The Coordinating Center of the National Council of Democratic Forces of Azerbaijan reported on growing threats of Internet censorship and persecution of social networks.
This conclusion came during the CC debate on the political situation in the country on Wednesday , according to the chairman of the NCDF.
The meeting of the CC gave the facts of the state policy to restrict freedom of the Internet, in particular imprisonment for 5 years of the activist of social networks, Elsever Mursalli, for supporting the Chairman of NCDF, Jamil Hasanli.
Further members of the CC supported the adoption of the action plan to strengthen the work on various areas .
CC also paid particular attention to developments in Ukraine. They considered various scenarios of events and their impact on Azerbaijan and all the post-Soviet space. In light of the lessons of the Ukrainian crisis, CC decided to intensify work with international organizations for the promotion of democracy in Azerbaijan.
They decided to carry out special hearings on the state of the process and the implementation of European integration and the government obligations under the European Eastern Partnership policy in the near future. -0-
