Opposition prepares for rally on March 31
Baku / 27.03.18 / Turan: The authorities have no reason to refuse to hold an opposition rally on March 31, Turan was told by Nureddin Mammadli, chairman of the Supreme Mejlis of the People's Front Party (PFPA). According to him, the rally is timed to the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis, and the 100th anniversary is celebrated this year. "The action is dedicated not only to the current problems, but also to the events of 1918 and not to allow their oblivion," Mammadli said. Therefore, the refusal to hold a rally on March 31 will damage the image of the authorities themselves, he said.
The same opinion is shared by the head of the Musavat party apparatus Gulaga Aslanli.
"We will honor the memory of the victims of the genocide committed 100 years ago against our people," Aslanli Turan said. The joint meeting of the National Council and "Musavat" is scheduled for 15:00 at the stadium "Mahsul" in the Yasamal district of the capital. At the same time, the action will be held under the political slogans: "Free elections!", "No, corruption!", "No, monarchy!", "Freedom to political prisoners!".
At the rally there will also be slogans against the Armenian terror and calls by the international community to assess the genocide of Azerbaijanis. On March 10, the opposition held a rally against early elections and corruption.
