Prosecutor General"s Office investigates a statement against the leaders of the opposition
The Investigation Department of Serious Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan began an investigation based on the allegations of Aflan Ibrahimov allegedly on preparing the riots during the presidential election by some members of the National Council of the Democratic Forces (NCDF), according to the press service of the Prosecutor General.
Ibrahimov presented himself in media as a deputy chairman of the "El" Movement, and said that the head of this Movement, Eldar Namazov and the leader of the Popular Front, Ali Kerimli, are preparing riots on the eve of elections, and for this reason Ibrahimov resigned from the post of deputy chairman of the "El".
The "El" Movement told Turan correspondent, that Ibrahimov had never been a member of the Movement or its deputy chairman. Representative of the "El» Movement confirmed that Ibrahimov wanted to join the Movement and later the NCDF, but was refused.
According to the Prosecutor General Office, on August 23 Ibrahimov was summoned to the Prosecutor General Office, and confirmed his statements to the media.
It is noteworthy that the information of the Prosecutor General Office was spread half an hour later after the National Council put forward a reserve candidate.–06С--
