Rohrabacher initiates a radio program for Iranian Azerbaijanis
The U.S. Congressman, Dan Rohrabacher, proposed to start broadcasting the program for ethnic Azerbaijanis of Iran on the radio "Voice of America". In an interview with the Azerbaijani service of Radio "Voice of America", Rohrabacher said he submitted a bill on this issue to the Congress.
A Congressman from California, also said that the U.S. government is going to make an effort to support the struggle of ethnic minorities of Iran for their rights.
"We need to increase efforts in the field of education, including programs in the Turkic language for those who speak it in Iran. This is their first language. I have already submitted to Congress a project of broadcasting programs on the radio "Voice of America" in the Turkic language," said Rohrabacher.
Last year the Foreign Relations Committee of the U.S. Congress held hearings about the role and place of Iran. Then Rohrabacher called the Iranian authorities a “gangster regime” grossly violating the rights and freedoms of Azerbaijani Turks, and called on to support them. -03D04-
