Demolition of commercial buildings in Sumgait angered owners
, On Saturday the authorities of the city of Sumgayit (35 km from Baku) decided to demolish all the trade and life facilities along the road for 2 km on the Mir street. This morning the owner of the three-story Market «Ən ucuz» Vugar Galandarov was ordered to clean the building, which is to be demolished.
"The building cost me $1.2 million loan which I borrowed from bank," said the owner, noting that he has all the necessary documents on possession of the object; 240 employees are in the store, and they all will lose their job. In the morning owners of other facilities which will also be demolished came up to their objects and express their discontent and indignation at the actions of the city authorities.
It is noteworthy that the decision to demolish is not in writing, and all orders are given orally. Nobody speaks about the issue of compensation.
Previously beautification works have been carried in this street: facades of all objects were covered in accordance with the architectural plan, developed by the former mayor of the city Eldar Azizov. -08В-
