French Ambassador: Women's Rights Must Be Reliably Protected
Baku / 13.11.20 / Turan: The ceremony of presenting the award "Equality of men and women" was held at the French Embassy in Baku yesterday.
As Ambassador of France Zachary Gross noted at the ceremony, gender equality is one of the priorities of French diplomacy. “Women's rights are human rights and must be protected. France has always promoted this,” Gross said.
According to him, today all over the world there are problems in the field of gender equality and this applies to such spheres as political representation, access to education, intra-family violence, etc.
Gross also noted the important role of women in peacemaking, stressing the importance of their active participation in this.
Further, four laureates were presented with awards. Prestigious award the opportunity to attend a training course at the prestigious French campus of political sciences "Sciences Po" next May for a month within the framework of the summer school dedicated to human rights and global development. - 16D-
